Kids Hampers

A little fun, a little fuss and something just for them.

Kids gift setting with a yellow teddy bear, chocolate and lolly gifts, activity books, games, colouring pencils and toys

Kids have a wonderful way of knowing exactly what they like. It might be dinosaurs this month, mermaids forever, a teddy that needs to go everywhere with them or anything involving chocolate and lollies. And sometimes the best gift is simply something that gives them a little fun of their own.

Our Kids Hampers bring together gifts chosen with those smaller personalities in mind — from colourful treats and cuddly companions to activities, themed gifts and a little pampering for kids who enjoy being fussed over too. Some are made for birthdays, some can brighten a day when they’re not feeling their best, and others need no particular occasion at all. There might be something to eat, something to do, something to cuddle or a mixture of the healthy and not-so-healthy. The important part is finding something that feels like it was chosen especially for them.

When they’re really into something

Children have a wonderful ability to become completely absorbed in the things they love. Dinosaurs aren’t merely interesting — suddenly every dinosaur has a name, bedtime requires a detailed discussion about the T-Rex and anything remotely prehistoric deserves immediate investigation. Mermaids, pirates, animals, colours and favourite characters can all have their turn at becoming very serious business.

Choosing a gift around one of those interests is a lovely way of showing that you’ve noticed what matters to them right now. It might be a phase that lasts six weeks or an obsession that follows them for years; either way, seeing something they already love waiting inside their gift can make the whole thing feel unmistakably theirs.

A little something to keep them busy

There’s a particular kind of excitement that comes with opening a gift and discovering there’s something to do inside. A colouring book waiting to be filled, an activity to get stuck into or a little pampering treat that turns an ordinary afternoon into something rather more interesting.

Those kinds of gifts can be especially welcome when a child is spending more time at home, having a quiet day or simply looking for their next adventure. And while keeping little hands occupied for a while may be part of the plan, the real pleasure is giving them something that belongs entirely to their day — something they can open, explore and enjoy at their own pace.

Sometimes a treat can just be a treat

Not everything inside a child’s gift needs to have a practical purpose. Sometimes it’s the chocolate they spot first, the packet of lollies they immediately claim as their own, the bubble bath that makes tonight’s bath considerably more exciting or the soft little face they decide needs a name before anything else can happen.

There’s plenty of room for the wholesome things too, but part of the fun of receiving a gift is discovering something you wouldn’t necessarily get every day. A little treat, a little spoiling and perhaps something they’re very glad nobody decided had to be sensible.

Their reason for smiling might be quite small

Children don’t always need a big occasion to get excited about something arriving especially for them. A birthday certainly qualifies, but so can finishing something they found difficult, having a rough week, being stuck at home when they’d rather be somewhere else or simply discovering that somebody was thinking about them.

Sometimes the reason belongs entirely to the grown-up sending it. You might want to celebrate them, cheer them on, give them something to look forward to or put a little brightness into an ordinary day. They don’t necessarily need to know all the thinking that went into it. From their side of the gift box, something has arrived with their name on it — and sometimes that’s excitement enough.

A parcel with their name on it

There’s something rather important about a parcel when you’re a child and it belongs entirely to you. Someone chose what went inside, wrote your name on the gift and sent it especially for you, with a little message to be read to you or discovered for yourself. Before the box is even open, that alone can make the moment feel a little bit special.

Once you’ve made your choice, we take care of the rest — preparing the gift, adding your personal message and getting everything ready for its journey. What happens at the other end is entirely up to them. There may be careful inspection, immediate chocolate negotiations, a new teddy requiring a name or crinkle-cut paper scattered considerably further than anyone expected. However they open it, the best part is knowing that for a little while, this particular parcel is all about them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages are your Kids Hampers suitable for?

Our Kids Hampers are designed for children beyond the baby stage, with different gifts appealing to different ages, interests and personalities. You’ll find everything from cuddly companions and colourful treats to themed gifts, activities and a little pampering for kids who enjoy being fussed over too.

Because children don’t all like the same things at the same age, we don’t put one age range across the whole collection. The individual gift and its contents are the best guide, and if you’re unsure whether something would suit the child you’re buying for, please feel free to contact us — we’re always happy to help.

What kinds of gifts are included in your Kids Hampers?

There’s quite a mixture. Depending on the gift, you might find chocolates and lollies, teddy bears and other soft companions, colouring and activities, little pampering treats or a whole theme built around something children love — from pirates and dinosaurs to mermaids and whatever else finds its way into the collection.

Some gifts are made especially with children in mind, while others come from our wider GBB collections because they happen to be wonderfully suited to younger recipients. The common thread is simply that there should be something inside for them to enjoy, discover, cuddle, do — or eat.

Are Kids Hampers just for birthdays?

Not at all. Birthdays are certainly a good reason to send one, but Kids Hampers can also be a lovely way to say congratulations, cheer them on, brighten a difficult week, send a little Get Well thought or simply surprise them because you were thinking about them.

Children don’t generally require much convincing that a parcel arriving especially for them is a good idea. Sometimes the fact that somebody thought of them is occasion enough.

Can I send a Kids Hamper to a child in hospital?

Yes. Many of our Kids Hampers can make lovely hospital gifts, particularly when you’d like to send a child something comforting, entertaining or simply a little surprise to brighten their day. Teddy bears and soft companions can offer some company, while colouring, activities and treats can give them something to enjoy during quieter moments.

Hospital requirements can vary, so it’s worth checking whether there are any restrictions that may affect the gift you’re considering. When ordering, please provide the child’s full name along with the hospital and any ward or room details you have available. If you’re unsure which gift would be suitable, you’re very welcome to contact us before ordering.
